Nepal Water Conservation Foundation (NWCF), a not-profit organization, is planning to undertake an action research program in Gandaki Province for climate risk reduction in water sector from the immediate effect. Applicants are expected to conduct field study and write research reports on the respective field of expertise starting from August 1, 2024.

1. Hydrogeologist / Research Officer:

Expected qualification: Master’s degree in Hydrology, hydrogeology or equivalent.

Experience: 3 years with track record of research writing

Responsibilities:

• Conduct geohydrological surveys and analyses to assess water resources

• Map groundwater recharge areas and assess water balance scenarios

• Provide technical expertise in hydrogeology for project activities

• Collaborate with the project team to integrate geohydrological data into planning and decision-making

• Document and report findings from geohydrological studies

• Support capacity-building activities related to hydrogeology

• Engage with stakeholders to communicate survey results and implications

2. Knowledge Management Officer:

Qualifications: Master’s degree in social science or environmental science or equivalent

Experience: 3 years with track record of research writing.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain a comprehensive database of research data

• Ensure the accuracy and integrity of data collected from field surveys and other sources

• Analyze data and generate reports to support research findings

• Assist in the preparation of research publications and presentations

• Implement data management best practices and ensure compliance with data protection regulations

• Facilitate the sharing and dissemination of knowledge products

• Support researchers in data analysis and management tasks

3. GEDSI and Community Engagement Officer

Qualifications: Master’s degree in social sciences

Experience: 3 years with track record of research writing.

Responsibilities:

• Promote gender equality, disability inclusion, and social inclusion in all project activities

• Conduct community engagement activities to ensure inclusive participation

• Collect and analyze data on GEDSI aspects and prepare reports

• Develop and implement strategies to address GEDSI-related challenges

• Organize training sessions and workshops on GEDSI topics

• Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure GEDSI integration in project planning and implementation

• Document and disseminate best practices in GEDSI
